Today, I was deeply touched in our church community.
In a Thankfulness testimonial: a young women gave her testimonial that so many people can relate to.
A few years ago, our pastor, in an act of love and profound responsibility, proclaimed himself as the father to this young woman whose biological father abandoned her and her mother. She had carried the pain of that absence for so long. Through her tears she thanked the Lord.
I was sobbing….😭
In a world where accountability and presence seem increasingly scarce, this act felt like a shining beacon of hope. Our society is suffering from the absence of present, responsible fathers. Too often, the spiritual scene talks about being “kings” or “warriors,” but what about ‘simply’ being a father?
How many young girls, like this one, are longing for the love, guidance, and security that only a father can provide?💔
This young woman in church, not only has a father figure, she now has grandparents, uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces too. And our Holy Father who blessed her.
I felt such admiration, a slight jealousy, and huge grace.🥹
“A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.” — Psalm 68:5
This verse speaks of God’s heart for those who are left vulnerable. And today, I saw my pastor living out that calling. It’s one thing to preach God’s word, but it’s another to follow it through actions that change lives.
May we all be inspired to step up—not just with words, but with deeds that reflect God’s love and responsibility.
