What if depression is more than imbalance

Depression was a like an old friend in my life. A friend that always hangs around, that you almost don’t even notice anymore, that you think ‘is normal’.

Ever since I came to Christ: a light switch went ON.

And I invite YOU into this thought experiment:

What if depression is more than a chemical imbalance or an emotional struggle? What if, as Derek Prince suggests, depression is something more— a spirit without a body, a negative energy that is not from God?

Derek Prince, a renowned Bible teacher and deliverance minister, taught that depression could sometimes be a manifestation of spiritual warfare. According to his teachings, negative emotions, particularly those of deep sorrow, hopelessness, and despair, can be fueled by demonic influences that taunt a person’s mind, pushing them towards spiritual death. In this view, depression isn’t just a mental state; it’s an oppressive spiritual force meant to rob a person of their joy, peace, and ultimately their relationship with God.

Prince often emphasized that these spirits are not just abstract ideas or feelings but are real, personal entities—without a body, seeking to enter our lives with one purpose only: dragging you to hell.

In his teachings, he describes how such ‘spirits’/demons can cause despair and confusion, drawing individuals further away from the light of Christ to bring a person into a state of hopelessness, where they may feel there is no way out or that they are beyond redemption.

I have found out through the power and authority of Jesus Christ, any spirit—be it of depression, fear, anxiety, sickness, attacks, disease, or any other negative force—can be confronted and cast out. Step 2 is looking at your negative patterns, family ‘curses’, and where you open the doors towards the dark. Step 3 close tje doors towards these energies(if you want to know more: please send me a message)

God’s power is greater than ANY negative force in this world. I did not know this!- I felt completely wrapped up in darkness.

Aligning ourselves with God’s truth, through prayer, repentance, and faith in Jesus Christ, we can overcome depression and any demonic oppression that seeks to invade our hearts and minds.

In his teachings, Prince emphasized the importance of recognizing the spiritual nature of depression. He encouraged believers to stand firm against the enemy’s tactics and declare victory in Jesus’ name. The Bible assures us in James 4:7: “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

If you’re battling depression It is NOT natural to have this oppression. ❤
